Microsoft Sirius (Nokia Lumia 2520) features

  • OS: Windows
Windows Phone is the Operating System (OS) by Microsoft for touchscreen mobile phones. The latest version is the Windows Phone 8 (WP8). This tablets runs on Windows RT. For more information, read our article on improvements in Windows 8
  • Processor: Quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400
Multiple Cores help you multi-task better. Each core come with an Independent CPU. Also, multi core processors use power more efficiently and play an important role in increasing battery life.
  • Touchscreen: Capacitive touchscreen
Capacitive screens use electrodes to sense the touch of an object that simply has the dielectric value different than that of air. This gives the capacitive screens a slighter edge with respect to sensitivity of the screen. Even a small swipe by the tip of a finger is enough to generate a response whereas its counterpart (resistive touch) requires a heavy touch to get the necessary response.
  • Pixel density: 218 PPI (Pixels Per Inch)
Pixel density (PPI) gives you the number of pixels per inch of diagnol size. For good clarity (at 100% zoom), minimum acceptable PPI is around 300. Anything lower than 225 is considered below average.
  • Network: 4G
The 4th Generation in wireless network technology is known for its ultra high speed data transfer speeds. Some of the technologies that fall under 4th gen network category are LTE, Mobile WiMAX etc. Transfer speeds allow you to stream Full HD videos and use other such features that require high download speeds. The network is not that popular in India yet. Though only the very latest products ship with this feature, the technology is slowly becoming popular.
  • Wireless: Wi-Fi Direct
WiFi Direct is a peer to peer technology allowing two devices to connect to each other without the need of an external wireless access point. Also, only one of the devices needs to have the WiFi direct feature. You can share files or internet connection using this feature.
  • GPS: A-GPS
A-GPS or Assisted GPS use an assistive server (over the data network or Wi-Fi) to decrease the startup time of a traditional GPS device. Traditional GPS device take around 30 to 40 seconds to detect the location.
  • Sensors: Accelerometer
Accelerometers are used to detect the orientation of the phone. They automatically detect when the device is turned and change the display from landscape to portrait and vice versa.
